The two founders of our Aerospace Engineering SME created the business in 1973. They took it from a standing start to a £2m turnover delivering highly specialised engineering for aerospace engine components.

“We’d had the business on the market with a broker and they’d been trying to sell to competitors for over two years. So, hearing about this sale to our managers was a great relief”.

By the time we shook hands on the deal in 2016, they had 20 employees.

“It released some cash but I was still able to continue working in the business and this time doing what I enjoy the most, design engineering, not management.”

With our co-ownership and the financial tools we bring, growth has continued – as of 2020, headcount now stands at 32 and turnover has doubled.

The owner of our Cladding & Construction SME wasn’t looking to get out, but to access growth finance. The business had high growth potential, and we liked their spirit and their numbers.

“Realising I can get growth capital and still be in the driving seat of the business” was a lightbulb moment for the founder.

One year after the deal, he had expanded the product range and turnover was already up 20%.
